Poole & Shaffery, LLP

Founded in 1998, Poole & Shaffery, LLP, has developed a reputation as a leading business litigation and transactional law firm. Headquartered in Santa Clarita, California, but with offices throughout the state, our 22 attorneys provide a variety of services for our clients. We regularly both prosecute and defend business and commercial disputes, including breach of contract actions, intellectual property infringement, trade secret misappropriation, fraud and misrepresentation, and unfair business practices. While our litigators are tenacious courtroom advocates, we will often help our clients attempt to reach a resolution of these issues through negotiations, arbitration and mediation.

Our attorneys provide advice and counsel to businesses of all size in a variety of industries. At the outset, we help clients who are starting a new venture to determine the most appropriate form of legal entity and then prepare and file the requisite paperwork. After that, we prepare and review employment and other agreements, provide assistance with purchases and sales, help with private and public financing transactions and offer advice on business succession planning. Our attorneys also counsel our clients on the applicable state and federal employment laws and regulations, and we have prepared and reviewed employee handbooks.

In our trucking and transportation practice, we represent fleet owners in personal injury and wrongful death claims, insurance coverage disputes, and contribution and indemnification claims. For our individual clients, we prepare and review wills, trusts, and financial and health care powers of attorney, and we also guide them through the probate process.

Our attorneys are held in high regard by their fellow professionals. Many of them have earned an AV Preeminent* peer review rating through Martindale-Hubbell, and several have received Super Lawyers or Rising Stars recognition. In addition to being admitted to practice before all California state courts, many of our attorneys are admitted to practice before a variety of federal courts as well.

*AV®, AV Preeminent®, Martindale-Hubbell Distinguished and Martindale-Hubbell Notable are certification marks used under license in accordance with the Martindale-Hubbell certification procedures, standards and policies.
